unibetUnibet Poker recently announced that the worldwide release of the latest version of its Unibet Poker 2.0 software would take place on Dec. 1, 2016.

The online gaming company took a bold decision in 2014 to move out of the Microgaming Poker Network which was the company’s base software. It subsequently built and released its own network using Relax Gaming, designing it from the start, keeping in mind the requirements of recreational players. The software was previewed in August this year, and was soon put into closed beta testing with few selected players to check its functioning.

A key differentiating feature between the earlier version and the new one is the use of HTML5. According to Unibet, using a HTML5 platform over one powered by Adobe Air will reduce crashes that were occurring after the introduction of new features. The new software has better graphics, a freshly designed hand history re-player, integrated missions, multi-table playing feature and a fully reworked loyalty scheme. Players can use the software across all forms of devices – desktops, and on apps for tablets and mobile phones.

In a statement Andrew West Unibet Head of Poker said

Unibet Poker 2.0 was built from the ground up and designed to provide us with a foundation upon which we can seamlessly add in-game features to continuously provide the best experience possible for all of our players. We’re looking forward to collecting feedback on the new software and hope that our players will see the potential for 2017 and beyond.

Unibet has seen major success with the new software, witnessing a rise of 65 percent in revenues for the third quarter of 2016 over same period last year. To celebrate the new launch, Unibet has announced an Around The World promotion that will result in giveaways worth €250,000. The first prize is a world trip for two valued at €35,000, that will have a 28-day-tour of all the Seven Wonders of the World. Winners will fly business class.

Several other prizes are on offer, including once-in- a-lifetime travel packages for 33 players. Additionally, 1,000 more players will get tickets for cash games and tournaments, as well as Unibet Open packages.

Furthermore, Unibet has a raffle planned for ring games held between Dec. 1 and Dec. 31 where players will randomly be awarded gold, silver or bronze tickets, each securing them a prize. Raffle winners will be announced on Jan. 7 on the Unibet Poker Twitch channel.
